FAQ
Everything you need to know
What can I use propane for in my home?
Propane is a clean, versatile energy source for home heating, hot water, cooking, clothes drying, fireplaces, backup generators, pool heating, and more. Many families choose it because it’s efficient and reliable—even during power outages.
How is propane pricing determined for my home?
Propane is not priced the same as oil; there is a single price per gallon, but your actual rate depends on how much propane you use and for what applications you use it (e.g., cooking, drying, hot water, space heating, trailer heating, or home heating). For the most accurate price, customers are encouraged to call the office and discuss their propane usage needs so that the company can quote appropriately.
Do you offer automatic propane delivery, and how does it work?
Yes! With automatic delivery, we track your usage and schedule regular fills so you never run out. For customers who prefer to monitor their own usage, “Will-Call” delivery is also available—just contact us when your tank is around 30%.
How do I know what size propane tank I need, and can it be installed underground?
The right tank size depends on how large your home is and how many appliances use propane, such as heating systems, water heaters, and stoves. We offer a full range of above‑ground and underground tanks and will review your usage, property, and preferences to recommend the best size and installation option.
Is propane safe, and what should I do if I smell gas?
Propane is very safe when installed, inspected, and serviced by trained professionals, and a “rotten egg” odorant is added so leaks are easy to detect. If you smell gas, turn off the supply if you can do so safely, leave the area immediately, and call us or 911 from a safe location—do not use open flames, light switches, or phones near the leak.

Is propane safe, and what should I do if I smell gas?

Why isn’t my propane tank filled to 100%?
For safety, propane tanks are typically filled to about 80% of their total capacity. This open space allows the propane to safely expand and contract with temperature changes, especially in climates with wide seasonal swings.
How do I read my propane tank gauge, and when should I call for a delivery?
Most tanks have a round dial gauge under the lid; the number you see is the percentage of fuel remaining in the tank, not the number of gallons. If you’re a will‑call customer, we recommend calling to schedule a delivery when your gauge reads around 30% to avoid running out.
What happens if I run out of propane?
If your tank runs empty, your system must be checked before it is put back into service for safety reasons. A technician will perform a leak test, reset the system, and safely relight your appliances once everything has been inspected.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency propane service?
Yes, we provide around‑the‑clock emergency support for issues such as suspected leaks, no‑heat situations, and urgent deliveries when possible. Help is available 24/7 so you’re not left without service during nights, weekends, or severe weather.
Can I monitor my propane tank remotely?
Yes, remote tank monitoring is available and lets you track your propane level and usage from a smartphone or computer. These monitors provide real‑time readings and alerts, offering extra peace of mind and helping prevent unexpected runouts.
